Student Highlights
Magic of Wiradjuri Photo Competition
It was an exciting moment for Year 6 student Jenny Thorpe who was presented with her prize as an award recipient in the Magic of Wiradjuri Country Photo Competition.
Jenny was presented with her prize at the Leeton Shire Council Library where her image was on display along with other award winning images.
The Magic of Wiradjuri Country competition, an initiative led by Riverina Local Land Services, invites amateur photographers across our region to capture and celebrate the natural beauty and cultural significance of Wiradjuri Country. Open to both primary and secondary students, the competition encourages young people to share their perspectives through the lens.
As reported late last term, Jenny’s winning photo stood out for its unique composition and the powerful story it tells about the land we live on and learn from. It is now being showcased for the community to enjoy!
