22 May 2014
Parkview PS ran its annual Cross Country Carnival on Monday May 12thin favourable weather conditions. Events which featured all students K-6 were again keenly contested across various distances. Students aged 5-7 years ran the 1 000m course which encompassed the perimeter of the school grounds while students aged 8 years and above ran the school ground and adjacent central park precinct to eventually clock up either 2 000m (8-10 Years) or 3 000m (11-13 Years). All students competed to a high standard and completed the course to their best of their ability. Place getters were awarded age championship trophies and ribbons to mark their achievement at the conclusion of the carnival. Freeman House again proved dominant in the overall point score edging out Thorpe House to claim their 2ndconsecutive carnival honour and win their first Cross Country Carnival for many years. The top 5 places of each event (8/9 Years up) will represent Parkview PS at the LNPSSA Cross Country Carnival held this Friday, May 23 at Murrami PS.
