Josephine Irvin last week travelled to Penrith to represent Riverina at the NSWPSSA Girls Basketball Championships being held at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. Josephine was selected for this opportunity following some outstanding performances at the Riverina Trials in March.
The Riverina team played 7 games throughout the week, winning three of their matches and losing four games, three of which were by narrow margins including a thrilling 1 point loss to Western in the 9 v 10 playoff game. Josephine acquitted herself very well throughout the week playing as a guard and a small forward, averaging almost 6 points per game.
Off the court Josephine also enjoyed many highlights including making new friends from across the state and experiencing city life!
Riverina’s results were as follows:
Riverina 36-33 Hunter
Riverina 24-66 Sydney West
Riverina 65-18 Barrier
Riverina 36-32 South Coast
Riverina 26-36 MacKillop
Riverina 35-46 Polding
Riverina 40-41 Western
We congratulate Josephine on a wonderful achievement.
