Parkview Dancers shine on the big stage!

Parkview Public School's Senior Dance Ensemble have been commended for some outstanding performances at the recent Riverina Dance Festival held at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre. The school's incredibly talented group of 14 girls (Taylah Axtill, Sharna Morriss, Chelsea Paterson, Dakota Boardman, Alayna Croucamp, Jordi Crowe, Molly Gilmour, Isabel Harris, Madeline Irvin, Tatum Marks, Chelsea Robinson, Tamika Rourke, Jayda Sutton-Travers and Heidi Whyatt) has been working tirelessly for the last 6 months in preparation for this event, and really did deliver one of the show piece performances of the production.

The theme of the performance was ‘On The Run', a mix of South American jungle rhythms combining into a celebration of colour and movement. The dancers explored contemporary and jazz dance styles as they moved with the beat of the music. The school's Dance Coordinator Mrs Julie Axtill once again shared her high level skill and passion for dancing, preparing the group through detailed choreography and brilliant costuming for this showpiece event.

The children certainly starred on stage and can be justifiably proud of their efforts. They were singled out for specific praise from the Director of Schools (Griffith Network) and the coordinators of the event not only for their performance but their conduct throughout the festival.
