Miah Weymouth has returned from a magical week of sport representing NSW at the School Sport Australia Under 12s AFL Championships in Albury. Miah and her NSW teammates finished as national champions and were awarded the gold medal for the tournament following some outstanding performances throughout the week which culminated in a 7-point win over Western Australia in the Gold Medal Game on Friday.
Miah played mainly as a forward throughout the week, with her stand out game being against the Northern Territory where she kicked an outstanding goal and had five other score involvements.
She also played a crucial role in the frantic final minutes of Friday’s final, gathering a couple of crucial contested possessions that helped keep a surging Western Australian team at bay.
Back at school, Miah’s classmates enjoyed every minute of watching her perform on the School Sport Australia livestream. Congratulations Miah on an outstanding performance. We are very proud of you.
