Parkview Celebrates a Year to Remember

Taylah Axtill (Year 6) received the Member for Murray Community Service Award

On Monday 16 December more than 800 people packed the Leeton High School MPC to celebrate the 2019 School Year at Parkview Public School.

A year that saw the school celebrate incredible achievements in academic pursuits, sport and the creative and performing arts was acknowledged, with Principal Travis Irvin recounting an unrivaled year of achievement for the school, with students achieving across the Australian continent, from Mandurah in Western Australia, to Sydney and in Canberra!

Daniella Draper was named Dux of the School for 2019 while Tallis McMillan was awarded the Skewes Family Shield for Sportsperson of the Year. Amelia Irvin received the Director of Schools Award whilst Taylah Axtill was the recipient of the Member for Murray Community Service Award.

The Parkview P&C Association also acknowledged two of its own, with Tracey Watson and Julie Axtill bestowed the honour of Life Membership of the organisation after long running voluntary contributions to the school.

It was also an opportunity to farewell the Class of 2019, with 61 Year 6 students graduating from primary school.

The school's 2020 leadership team was also announced, with the new leaders being Ruby Meline and Jy Mawer (School Captains) and Maylee Clancy and Benji Roden (Vice Captains).
