Education Week will be held from the 3rd-7th August this year (Term 3, Week 3) with the theme for 2020 being ‘Learning together’.
It's a theme that reflects an incredible year for NSW public school students, staff and parents, and the partnerships that have been strengthened in response.
All of NSW’s Education Week events will be held online to help reduce face-to-face contact between parents, students and teachers.
Education Week at Parkview PS will be recognised in ways unlike any other year. With the restrictions on parents and carers entering the school environment still in place, our traditional Open Day an Family Lunch will not be able to be celebrated.
In its place, our school will be hosting a series of Virtual Open Classrooms for parents of specific classes to engage with. These will take the form of Zoom Meetings which parents and carers will be able to join via their children’s DoE account. More details in relation to these events will be shared with the community separately from the newsletter.
This Education Week, we embrace the whole NSW public education community, highlighting the achievements of local schools and the role of public schools as the cornerstone of their communities.
EDUCATION WEEK OPEN DAY PRACTISE ZOOMS – TODAY and TOMORROW!
As many of you are aware, following details published in the Newsletter on Monday, we will be hosting Virtual Education Week Open Days via Zoom next week.
To prepare parents and carers for this opportunity, we are running Trial Zoom Sessions to provide an opportunity to practise accessing these Zooms.
As such we will be hosting two practise Zooms this week:
* Tonight (Thursday, 30th July) at 7pm
* Tomorrow Morning (Friday, 31st July) at 7.45am.
These will be short meetings just to give you the chance to iron out any issues prior to entering the Zooms during Education Week with a particular focus on logging in.
To access our Zoom Platform, parents will need to log into their child’s student portal using their child’s student credentials. Your child should be aware of these credentials. They will be able to help you do it! These were also emailed to parents during the ‘Learning from Home’ period on or around March 24th.
Once you have logged into your child’s portal, please go to their emails and click on the link provided in the email that was sent to them today from their teachers.
