Today our talented debating team contested the Riverina Semi Finals of the Premiers Debating Challenge. The team of Josephine Irvin, Xavier Chilko, Arla Quigley, Kaed Harvie and Lucy Gilmour have achieved some incredible things in the competition this year, defeating Hanwood PS, Leeton PS (twice), Coolamon CS, Parkview Giants and Temora West PS on their way to this point of the competition
In a high standard debate against Thurgoona PS, Parkview argued the affirmative case for the topic ‘Primary School Teachers should set research projects as homework over every school holiday.’
After a fabulous debate Parkview, we’re knocked out of the competition in a narrow result against the talented Thurgoona team. The adjudicator provided our students with lots of positive feedback and said they should be proud of their efforts especially considering they had made it all the way to the Semi Finals.
We are incredibly proud of the efforts of our team, being the first Parkview team to make the Riverina Semi Finals since 2010!
